Kyocera phones are very popular in the CDMA market. They are by far the easiest to reprogram.
You only need to use the Kyocera PST to perform the PRL and NAM programming of all the Kyocera phones. It is relatively easy to work with. All you need to do is to start Kyocera PST Configuration and launch the Service Programming software.
However, in order to use the Kyocera PST to reprogram a phone, you must either set the SPC to zeros or know what it is. To do this, you need to use other software.
SE 47 Slider
To read the SPC from the SE47 Slider, you need to use the SE47 Slider Tool. The password is
sliderseguro.
Choose the right COM port under Settings and click on Read Phone. You should see the current SPC, and you should write the new SPC as 000000. You can also use this to read SPC from many other Kyocera phones.
Kx4x4
You can find this tool under the Kyocera folder in the Unlock directory. It should work for removing SPC for the Kx4x4 series.
2035 / 7135 (Palm OS PDA Phone)
It is best to use serial cable to work on this model. USB cable may work. However, regardless what cable you use, you need to go to the main screen on the phone, click on Fax/Modem icon and set it to receive Data Call. So it can be detected by Kyocera PST software. Without enabling the Data Call feature, it will not be detected by Kyocera PST. Even if the phone doesn't get a signal, you should still set it to Fax/Data mode. It will return an error such as "Available Only in Digital Mode", don't click on OK, just leave it there and the Kyocera PST will detect the phone.
In addition, some times, after you re-program the phone with a different PRL (for example, US Cellular phones), the phone will keep searching with no signal. Even though you may have used that same PRL to successfully program other phone. The solution to this is to use the Kyocera PST configuration transfer tool to copy the configuration from the working phone to the phone with no signal. It will work.
Kx5
You must use the serial cable with Virgin mobile phones. The SPC is "virgin"
To find the SPC, you need to use the EasyCDMA software, read EFS and locate the six-digit SPC in the NVM. (However, the software freezes as you try to open the NVM). At this time, SPC reading is not supported.
Kx9, Kx10
You must use the serial cable with Virgin Mobile phones as they are programmed not to go into data mode. In addition, Virgin Mobile phones are not supported because they use a different firmware. Only the regular Kx9 and Kx10 are supported. There is a program under the C:\Unlock\Kyocera folder that is designed solely to read SPC from Kx9 and Kx10.
